Smokey Blue Angelfish




Smokey Blue angelfish are another of the new varieties that combine the philippine blue gene with an existing variety, in this case smokey. Fish that are homozygous for (have two copies of) the philippine blue gene have an all over metallic blue sheen.

The fish in the photo above also carries a gold gene and a stripeless gene, although these make little difference to the overall appearance. A fish with two copies of the stripeless gene would be a smokey paraiba the fish shown in this link is father of the fish above.
