Gold Angelfish

The gene that causes "gold" or more accurately "New Gold" is an allele of "Dark", "Marble" &"Gold Marble". New gold is recessive to it's wild type allele. This fish may be described genetically as g/g.
Although recessive, in the homozygous condition "New Gold" is epistatic (suppresses the effect) of Zebra, Half black & Smokey. Combining a homozygous new gold with Platblue (pb) gene also in homozygous condition results in a platinum angel.
